In the church of the New Testament, there was no Lord's Day without the Lord's Supper. Also, our Lutheran Confessions state that the Lord's Supper was celebrated every Sunday and on other festivals (Apology, Art. XXIV). As we joyfully receive His gift on this Lord s Day, we also joyfully submit to the Bible's teaching that oneness in doctrine is witnessed to in this celebration. For this reason, we practice close communion, and our guests are kindly asked to speak to one of the pastors or an elder before the service.

It is hard to find the words to express our appreciation for the many acts of kindness shown to us at the time of Norman’s death. The visits, calls, food, words of comfort, shared memories and memorials touched us deeply. Special thanks to Pastors Irmer and Wagner for their calls and visits as well as the Dorcas ladies for serving the lunch. It will long be remembered. God’s blessings to each of you.
